Board Meetings

Invitation to Participate

All members of the Magnolia and wider communities are invited to attend board meetings. Any person may register to make public comment at the meeting, either at the designated time for such comments near the start of the meeting, or directly before a particular agenda item. Roberts Rules of Order will be observed during all meetings (cheat sheet).

Regular Meeting Information

The Magnolia Union School District Board meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month except for the month of August. The meetings start at 6:00 p.m. and are held in the Blaine Smith Multipurpose Room. 

The public is invited to all District Board meetings and invited to register to address comments to the Board.

Registration for Public Comment

Individuals must register to make public comment and may do so using the physical register provided for this purpose at the meeting site. Registration for comment must be made before the start of the meeting. Individuals will be called by name when it is their turn for comment, either at the start of the meeting or immediately before the item is considered. The Board may set a time limit for comments. 

Comments in Regular Meetings

Members of the public may directly address the Board on any item of interest to the public that is within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Board. No action will be taken on items raised during public comment, unless otherwise noted on the previously-published meeting agenda.

Comments in Special Meetings

Members of the public may directly address the Board concerning any item that has been described in the previously-published notice for the meeting. Action will be taken on items only as described in the published notice.
