This year Magnolia will offer a before and after school program from as well as activities on selected non-instructional days.

Read the FAQ section below before enrolling.

Students must be enrolled using the form on this page in order to participate.

Extended Day Program Saturday Field Trip

When: December 3

Where: Farm Smart in Holtville

Time of Departure From School: 9 A.M.

Activity from 9:30-11:30

Sack lunch will be provided for students.

Estimated time of arrival back on campus: 12:30

· Learn about seasons

· Discover the many uses of corn

· Learn how to shuck, shell and grind corn

· Enjoy some Fall snacks

· Explore a corn maze

Extended-Day Program

If I enroll, is participation required?

No. Each family may decide day-to-day whether they will participate, based on daily family needs.

Is there a cost to enroll?

No. There is no cost to enroll. You may enroll without participating.

Is there a cost to participate or attend?

Yes. There is a cost of $5.00 per student per week to participate, in other words, to attend the program. The cost is $5.00 per week no matter how many days the student attends that week. Attendance will be taken and a bill will be emailed to parents each month. Please pay your bill at the main office via check or chash.

Is there a scholarship available?

Yes. The state covers participation cost of students who qualify for free and reduced lunch or who are English Learners. If your student falls into either of these categories there is no need for you to make payment for enrolling.

What time is the program?

Enrolled students may be dropped off as early as 7:15 am and picked up as late as 5:15 pm.

Do students have to stay the whole time?

No. Parents may drop students off later than 7:15 or pick them up before 5:15 pm. Please communicate with the school when you need to do this.

Do students have to attend both the morning and the afternoon sessions?

No. Students may attend one or the other.

Will transportation be provided?

No. Transportation for the extended day program is not available at this time.

Which students may participate?

All Magnolia students may participate. As much as possible, activities and curriculum will target students at their developmental level.

What is the daily schedule?

7:15 - 8:00 am Breakfast and tutoring time

8:00 am Recess and the normal school day

2:45 pm Snack and tutoring time

3:15 - 5:15 pm Extended learning activities

What are the extended learning activities?

Students will engage in a variety of activities, by rotation, including the following: yoga, games, crafts, engineering and robotics, gardening, cooking, American Sign Language, computer programming.
